Anti-migration DTF with black powder: made for technical fabrics

Some garments fight back. On softshell, 100% polyester and dark or red synthetic fabrics, the dye in the fabric rises with heat and bleeds into your print: whites turn pink, colours drift. This transfer is built for exactly those garments.

Instead of the standard white adhesive, we coat the print with a fine-grain black anti-migration powder (70 microns). That black layer acts as a barrier between the garment dye and your design, blocking the migration channels that open up when the fabric is heated.

When to choose it

  • Softshell jackets and technical outerwear
  • 100% polyester sportswear and workwear
  • Dark and red garments, where migration shows the most
  • Sublimated blanks and “bleeder” fabrics

One honest limit you should know

The black powder drastically reduces dye migration, but no blocker can guarantee it to zero: garment manufacturers and fabric compositions vary. In particular, if the elastane content of the garment is above 6-7%, migration can still occur whatever blocker is used. When in doubt, check the composition label of your garments or press a test piece first: we are happy to advise.

Printed in Barcelona, shipped across Europe

Produced in our Barcelona facility on a dedicated 55 cm anti-migration line and shipped across the EU by express air in 24-72 h. Sold by the linear metre (55×100 cm per metre): you upload your print-ready sheet and we print it edge to edge.

How to heat-press anti-migration DTF

The process is the same as standard textile DTF, with one substantial change: a lower temperature. Pressing hotter than recommended reactivates the dye in the fabric and works against the blocker.

  • Temperature: 140-145 °C
  • Time: 7-8 seconds, medium-high pressure
  • Peel: instant hot peel
  • Second press: 4 additional seconds to seal and fix the transfer
  • Care: wash cold, garment inside out, no aggressive detergents

File requirements

  • Sheet size: 55×100 cm per linear metre: send your laid-out sheet as one file per metre
  • PNG format, transparent background, 300 dpi
  • Colour profile: Adobe RGB (1998) embedded: this is our input profile and keeps your colours faithful
